There are a few options to fixing a flat tyre on your pushchair.
One way to prevent flats in the first place is to put some Slime in your tyres (see Accessories). Once inside your tyre, Slime fills any puncture holes by ’swishing’ around the tube as it turns.
Here’s Kiddicare’s Slime video.
If your tyres are worn or inner tubes are more heavily punctured you’ll need to replace them - again, Kiddicare stocks inner tubes. The valve of the inner tube will need a slight kink, rather than be straight.
Note that the tyres for the Classic, Sport, Dash, Twin, e3 are are generic sized parts (12.5”) and are available through Amazon.co.uk (link to Pushchair tyre and tube) any good bike store (where you can also get a puncture repair kit). However, the low profile Vibe tyre is unique to the Vibe and should be ordered through your nearest Phil & Ted’s retailer.
Changing a tyre on a buggy is much like on a bicycle - here’s a how to video.

I have purchased a Phil&Teds Twin Sports Buggy about a year ago and generally I am very happy with it.
My one hugh complaint is that i have been experiencing a lot of punctures. In the past 6 months i have had 5 punctures in the buggy, 3 of which have happened in the last month. Is this because i am using it in the country on country roads, is this buggy only really designed for city living.
I am getting really dissapointed with it, can you get solid wheels for this type of buggy.
I hope you can help wiht this matter
Deirdre
Hi Deirdre,
It’s possible that travel over rough terrain will lead to punctures, but not as often as you have experienced.
Note that the tyres should be inflated to around 22 psi and only ever with a manual hand pump. Correct inflation will minimise flats.
I’d suggest you try some Slime (see above) to puncture-proof your tyres.
Regards,
Michael
We have the Sport, and it is a great buggy, but we spend more time fixing it than using it due to our country lanes with hawthorns everywhere… Our buggy gets flat tyres once per week. Slime has no effect at all.
Is there any possibility of getting hard tyres for use with the buggy? Are they are generic size so children’s bike tyres can be used?
Thanks
I have Phil&Teds Buggy and just lost one of the tires. I would like to know if the tires sold at amazon come with tube or I have to place order for tubes seperately.
Would also like to know if it is possible to buy just one, as it appears it is being sold as set of three on amazon for 36 Pounds.
Regards,
Fisco
Can you tell us where we can get a tyre pump for the phil and teds sports twin buggy. Thanks in advance Dorothy
Beware: ignore the maximum inflation pressure on the tyre and take P&T advice (also embossed on the rim): only inflate to maximum 22lbs psi with a hand pump, I have now seen two examples of split rims because the tyres were over-inflated. Slime seems like a good idea too!
Hello,
Please can you tell me if you can replace the form on the handles of the phil and teds sport.
Kind regards
Dorothy - any good bike shop should have a suitable pump. Amazon.co.uk also has a good slection from 3 pounds up.
Paula - Yes you can replace the handle bar foam, or even replace the whole handle bar.
Cheaper options include replacing to foam yourself (use contact cement to stick some on) or unscrew the handle and take it to a foam rubber shop to get it replaced.
Fisco - according to the Amazon product listing it’s “A complete set of replacement tyres and inner tubes for Phil and Teds Sport.”
You’ll may be able to buy just one of the appropriate sized tyre (12.5in) at a local bike shop.
Rachel - I’m afriad hard tyres are not availale at the moment, but yes, the tyres are a generic size so it shouldn’t be hard to find replacements (as mentioned above)
